Chelsea Zi Wang
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University. My research interests include the histories of space, book culture, and information transmission in late imperial China. Specifically, my dissertation explores how the literati senses of space were shaped by transportation and information networks during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). More broadly, I am interested in incorporating comparative East Asian perspectives into the study of Chinese history, and I like to read broadly on the histories of premodern Japan and Korea.

自己紹介
ご訪問ありがとうございます。ニューヨークのコロンビア大学大学院で中国史を勉強している王紫（おうゆかり）と申します。今取り組んでいる博士論文では明代の距離感覚をテーマにしており、当時の交通や情報伝達の仕組みが文人たちの空間や距離に対する認識とどのように関連していたかという問題に興味があります。また、東アジア比較史の視点から中国の歴史を見直したいという思いから、中世・近世の日本と朝鮮半島の歴史にも関心を持っています。
このブログを始めたのは、英語圏の研究情報を日本語で書いてみたいと思ったことがきっかでけす。ここでは不定期に英語の書籍・論文・研究サイトなど、個人的に面白いと感じたものを紹介する予定です。長続きさせるためにも投稿は短く、自分の専攻分野である明清史や書籍の文化史についての話題が多くなると思います。基本的に批評はしないので、概要の和訳というくらいにお考えください。時間があれば個人的な研究雑感も書いてみるつもりです。
最後に私の経歴についてですが、中学一年生まで神奈川で育ちその後は北米で教育を受けてきました。読みは今でも日本語が一番自由ですが、学術的なことを書く機会は今まで特にありませんでした。なので私の記述で表現が不自然だったり改善出来るような点があれば、コメント欄で遠慮なくご指摘頂けると大変勉強になります。
